Jeep reveals minor details, 3 photos of all-new 2018 Wrangler
Ahead of its big reveal at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show later this month, Jeep released a few photos and some minor details about the all-new 2018 Wrangler.
This is the next-generation Wrangler, which means there will be a lot of new content and technology encased in this iconic Jeep.
The overall shape of the new Wrangler appears to be more rounded for aerodynamic purposes, but it retains a lot of its traditional features including round headlights, seven-slot grille and square taillights.
Right now, Jeep is leaving a lot to the imagination with tantalizingly vague details, using phrases such as “advanced fuel-efficient powertrains” and “more-open air options” – without saying exactly what those powertrains or options will be.
We expect the addition of a 4-cylinder engine as well as the full suite of safety technology – including lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking and blind spot monitoring – to be available. And we hope the base models will retain a lot of the bare-bones manual features including a stick shift and manual-crank windows.
The current generation Wrangler has one engine option – a 3.6-liter V-6 – and comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 5-speed automatic is an option. Base price for the 2017 Wrangler Sport 2-door model is $23,995.
If you want more info, you’ll have to hold tight until the big reveal on November 29. Check out the countdown clock and sign up for updates on the Jeep.com website.
