WASHINGTON (WJLA) - A group of high school students got up close and personal with one of Maryland's iconic blue crabs.

And while those crabs are pretty famous, they usually aren't this big!

The crab was caught as part of a trip on Sept. 27 that took students from Aberdeen High School out on the Chesapeake Bay in the Snow Goose, a converted workboat used to help students learn about the local environment.

The crew caught the crab while taking samples from the bay, so the students, some of whom had never been on a boat before, could see what types of creatures are living at the bottom of the bay.
