KERN COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) - Around 8 a.m. Tuesday, a California Highway Patrol officer pulled over a driver for speeding on Interstate 5 near Highway 43.

Officer Kremsdorf quickly discovered that the speeding driver was a nervous father-to-be with the mother in labor in the back seat.

The Kern County Fire Department and ambulances arrived quickly thereafter and delivered a healthy baby boy in the back seat of a car on the side of the freeway.

Congratulations to the new mom and dad who, officers say, were let off with a warning.
